A cab and chassis truck (or chassis cab) is a specialized commercial vehicle that comes from the factory with the passenger cab and the bare chassis (frame rails) behind it, but without a standard cargo bed or box.
It's a "bare-bones" platform built specifically to be customized. The lack of a factory-installed rear body allows a business to upfit it with various specialized equipment, such as:
